Day 34!!!

I had a nice long visit with the boys last night, and got to hold both of them!  I didn't get back until late, so I didn't update everyone!  Both boys are doing really well, with no real issues to report, which is always good!  According to their nurse last night the boys will both be put on the "High Flow" today!!!  We are praying that goes well, and that both boys can remain off of the C-PAP/Ventilator machine moving forward!!!

Nicholas is holding steady at 2lb. 15oz, he didn't gain any weight from the night before, but he did put on 50 grams the other day, so he can take a little break!  Hopefully tonight he reaches the 3lb mark!  He was at 24% oxygen assistance the last time we checked in early this morning, and all of his vitals were holding strong!  He was very alert last night while I was holding him, and in fact pulled out his C-PAP tube!!!  He's a little active bugger but that is a very good sign!

Joseph put on some weight last night and is up to 3lb 6.4oz!!!  As you will be able to see from the pictures he looks a lot fuller than Nicholas, but we know Nicky will catch up quick!  Joseph was at 40% oxygen, and to be honest I'm a little concerned with taking him off of the C-PAP today, but as the nurse reassured me last night, if he doesn't respond well, they can put him right back on to the C-PAP, but it's best to try and get them to the "High Flow" to build up their respiratory strength and ability to oxygenate themselves!  Joseph was also very feisty last night and we had to cut his holding time short because he was drifting up and down on his oxygen stats, but Mommy got to hold him early in the day so it's okay!!!

How are those push ups going everyone???  34 (68) today!!!  I hope everyone has a great Friday, and can enjoy their weekend!  Just as an FYI I will be posting tomorrow morning, but then I'll be headed to St. Louis to run a Tough Mudder for the Wounded Warriors Foundation, and I'll also be running for my boys too!!!  I'm not one for distance running but bring on the obstacles!!!  There probably won't be a post for Sunday depending on what time we return, but I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on the boys progress, and you can bet Monday the posts will continue!!!

One of my favorite pictures of our sweet Joseph!!!

Nicholas was not too happy with the close ups!!!

  1. Both of you boys look wonderful. Keep up the good work, I can't wait until you are on regular air and off all those machines. That will be such an accomplishment! You are both looking healthier every picture I see. Joe, you have a good time this weekend, Kalleigh, just get some rest. Lots of love, prayers, hugs and kisses to All. Grammy in Maine
