Day 24!!!

The boys are continuing to do well, which is a lot better than their Dad has been doing updating the blog lately!!!  I went to see them before work this morning, and things were going on pretty much as usual.  They both had a little drifting here and there, but for the most part their vitals were stable, and their oxygen assistance was holding at previous levels!  The nurse taking care of them this morning was just finishing up Nicholas' hands on and getting ready to start Joseph's, and she was pleased at the boys progress.

Nicholas now weighs in at 2lb 11oz, and has been gaining at least 20-30 grams per day for a while, which is exactly what the doctors hope for during this time!!!  His temperature was a little low this morning, but he was pulling on his probe a lot so the nurse said she would reattach it and she was sure he wasn't in any trouble!  Nicholas was continuing his feedings at 3.6ml per hour, but we're hoping he is able to increase a little more by the end of the day!!!

Joseph was drifting a little more than Nicholas this morning, but we've come to expect this type of mis-behavior from Jr. already!!!  The drifting is completely normal, and the nurses said his lungs and heart sound great, so we don't have too much to be concerned about right now!  Joseph made a big jump up to 2lb 15oz last night, so hopefully we can do a little celebration tomorrow if he goes over 3lb!!!  Joseph is also up to 16ml of breast milk every 3 hours now, so we really expect to see him adding some weight!!!

UPDATE 9/3/2013 9:30 PM:  Well we did it!!!! Joseph has officially moved over the 3lb mark!!! He now weights 3lb 1oz!!!  Nicholas is moving up as well weighing in at 2lb 12oz!!!  Both boys are doing great, and I got to see bath time tonight!!!  It's amazing to see just how much they have grown when you see them out of their "nests!"  Their nurse was very happy tonight, and she thinks they're really cute too, but let's be honest who doesn't!!! Okay sorry I had to brag a little bit!!!  Joseph is now up to 17ml of breast milk every 3 hours, and Nicholas is up to 4.3ml every hour!  They continue to impress me on their progress, and the doctors and nurses are giving us very encouraging reports daily!!!  I'm a little too excited to write at the moment, but there isn't much else to update right now, so keep on with those pushups 24 (48), tomorrow is the big 25 (50) mark!!!  Goodnight to everyone and thank you for your continued prayers and support!!!  We can't say enough how much it has helped!!!
