Sorry the update is a little late today!!! The boys are doing great though, and they were enjoying their labor day, hopefully as much as anyone else!!! The news has been all positive today, first we were told that Joseph is now weighing 2lbs 13 oz, and Nicholas is at 2lb 11oz, so Nicholas is still making a run at his brother for the weight title!!! We're hoping to see 3lbs in the next week or so, which will be a great accomplishment for the boys when they get there!!! Joseph was also up to 15ml of breast milk every 3 hours, which is now also being fortified to add nutrients and minerals to the body in order to support the rapid rate of growth bone mineralization. This is a good sign, and the doctor was very happy to begin introducing this to Joseph!!! Joseph was at 40% oxygen assistance today when I saw him, and he had a few minor episodes today along with some drifting, but nothing to be worried about according to his nurse!!!
Nicholas is also increasing his feeds, where he is now getting 3.6ml every hour, which comes out to around 10ml every three hours, if you're looking to compare to Joseph's intake. Nicholas has not begun the fortified milk yet, but when he reaches 15 ml every three hours, they will introduce it to him. Nicholas' oxygen is still hanging out in the mid 30's again, he like his brother also had some drifting today here and there, but otherwise he was stable and looking good!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend!!! I know it was a nice day off today, but I hope you didn't take a day off from the 23 (46) push ups for the boys!!! I was late in getting to mine today, but if my boys don't get a day off, then neither does Dad!!!
